How We Started

Michael Mortenson always had a passion for building growing up. He started as a boy building clubhouses with friends in grade school and never stopped. After serving six years in the United States Marine Corps in 1986, Michael went right back into the building industry. He honed in on expanding his skills for years by working and learning the craft.

Michael started Custom Home Specialties, Inc. in 1990 as a home remodeling and repair service company and it has grown and evolved into what it is today. He prides himself on honesty, integrity, quality, and helping clients fulfill their home remodeling dreams.

Michael and his three-person crew are family-oriented and have worked together for years specializing in residential outdoor living construction.
